Olivia and Sebastian met their freshman year of college at BYU after making the connection that their families knew each other from graduate school in Berkeley. After months of talking, Olivia finally asked Sebastian out for a real date.
Despite chaotic dates, including dizzying laser shows, hectic camping trips (pictured here), and other debacles planned by Sebastian, Olivia still agreed to date him.
As the semester wrapped up, Olivia prepared to return to the East Coast for a summer job in New York City. Despite having dated for only two months, they chose to continue their relationship long-distance, a decision that felt spontaneous at the time, but was worth it in the end.
That summer, they spent hours on FaceTime, and Sebi booked a trip to New York to visit Olivia and her family.
West 108th in NY, which becomes important later.
The summer ended and school started, but for the next two years, Sebi and Olivia's adventures were never-ending.
On December 27th, while swimming laps, Sebastian suddenly realized he should marry Olivia. Getting out of the pool, he hatched a plan for surprising Olivia and he immediately booked a flight for the next day to New York City, where Olivia and her family were visiting their grandma
While trying desperately to keep Olivia from suspecting anything, Sebastian excitedly arrived at the airport and then rushed to the Upper West Side to meet at a spot he'd chosen for its significance from their first visit in NYC together. Olivia's parents and aunt set up an elaborate cover story to get her to the correct location. Finally, on West 108th in New York City Sebastian stepped out from behind a car, successfully surprising Olivia, and proposed.
And she said yes! They are so excited that on August 22nd, along with their friends and family, they will get to celebrate their love!
